PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To manage, expand, and serve the company’s clientele base, and in the process enhance the company’s effectiveness, efficiency, image, and profitability.

WHAT TO EXPECT
This is a professional position requiring excellent written and verbal communication skills, and above average interpersonal and social skills. This individual will work under the direct supervision, guidance, and direction of the CEO. Depending on the successful applicants qualifications and applicable experience, the intensity and duration of direct supervision and training will vary. The employee will receive hands-on workforce training and will be immersed in company culture and procedures. Training will emphasize customer and service provider relations, conflict resolution, and task specific technical training. An estimated 60-90% of the work load and training will be associated with private woodlands consulting, specifically Woodland Stewardship Plan writing and Timber Harvest Administration. From time to time, other forestry related tasks may be required as well, including such tasks as conducting forest inventory on company contracts (in which case overnight travel may be required, usually in Minnesota).
This individual will assist in serving our existing and future private woodlands clientele throughout northern Minnesota. Anticipated overnight travel averages approximately 1-4 nights per month (at company’s expense). Ongoing training, membership in employer selected professional associations, and other opportunities to enhance your skills as a private consulting forester will be provided at company expense.
This individual will be responsible for properly representing the company and for achieving clear, challenging, and yet realistic production and financial goals. Regular goal management team meetings and contact with the main office and CEO is to be expected. Expect 40 - 48 hour work weeks, with occasional, seasonal high-demand periods (typically a few weeks in late winter/early spring and fall. This position is approximately a 50-50 blend of field and office work.
